Arixtra 2.5mg/0.5 ml

Arixtra 2.5mg/0.5 ml

(fondaparinux sodium)

What is Arixtra used for?

Arixtra is used to prevent venous thromboembolic events (problems due to the formation of blood clots in the veins).

How to inject Aritra

How does Arixtra work?

Blood clotting can be a problem when blood flow is disturbed in any way. Arixtra is an anticoagulant: it prevents the blood from coagulating (clotting). The active ingredient in Arixtra, fondaparinux sodium, stops one of the substances that are involved in the clotting of blood, factor Xa. When this is blocked, no thrombin (another factor) can be produced, and no clot can be formed.

Common side effects of Arixtra include:

·         bleeding problems.

·         bleeding, rash, and itching at the injection site.

·         severe bleeding after surgery.

Preservation of Arixtra

Keep it below 30 degrees Celsius. No need to refrigerate.
